Is there a skills gap? I have several years in IT with certs and am still finding hard to transition into cybersecurity after a year. I have colleagues in security who have recently been fired from government role and they even say it’s hard finding a job. The job market feels pretty saturated from my point of view of 100s of other applicants I have to fight with for a role. It feels more the recruitment system is broken and geared to keep you out rather than help you get a job.
