Five Years of Student360
About six years ago, the team at UMSA and Secure360 thought we should have a one-day event focused on college students.
The first Student360 was hosted on Saturday, February 11 at the Minneapolis campus of St. Mary’s University Minnesota—what a successful and engaging day! The top sessions were our general sessions with a great CSO panel and ending the day with an FBI speaker.
The second annual Student360 event was held at Best Buy headquarters on February 24 and was a big success. We were so grateful that our staff, sponsors, speakers and attendees traveled through the unexpected Minnesota snow to participate in the day. This was the year we held our first mock interviews. Our mock interviews were definitely a hot commodity – not a single time slot went unfilled!
The third year of Student360 was held on February 22 and graciously hosted at 3M state-of-the-art corporate headquarters. We continued the tradition of having a CSO panel and continued the mock interviews.
Last year was the fourth year of Student360, on January 31 at Target North Campus. This year we brought back the end of day FBI speaker. The weather was also an issue, with another snow event in central Minnesota.
Through it all, students give high-praise to the Student360 event. A response from our post-event survey summed it up well: “I thought meeting with industry professionals was an invaluable experience. Overall, the event was a great way to open my eyes to what a career in cybersecurity entails.”
Now in its fifth year, Student360 is moving to fall. To prepare students for our fall event and to provide some interview guidance we will be hosting three webinars in March.
We are hopeful for a vaccine so we can meet in-person on October 1st for our fifth annual Student360. We would love to see you. Learn more here.
We would like to thank all our attendees, volunteers, staff, affiliates, sponsors, and speakers for supporting the Student360 event! A special thanks goes to our past title sponsors: Best Buy, 3M, and Target Corporation.
