About the Foundation
The Upper Midwest Security Alliance (UMSA) Foundation is a Minnesota-based 501(c)(3) organization created to support continuing education for security, continuity and risk professionals. The UMSA Foundation was started by the Upper Midwest Security Alliance (UMSA) to be its philanthropic arm with a singular and unique focus towards advancing the information risk, audit, continuity, disaster recovery, cybersecurity and related fields through the giving of funds to support college scholarships and grants for those focused on these fields.
The mission of the UMSA Foundation is two-fold:
- support the research and education in matters involving security, continuity and risk-related professions, organizations and practices
- promote, develop, foster, and support a scholarship program for individuals pursuing a security, continuity and risk-related profession
The UMSA Foundation provides continuing education opportunities for security, continuity and risk professionals and the general public. The foundation also generates grant opportunities and supports/funds academic scholarships for undergraduate and graduate level education.
The UMSA Foundation leadership is provided by the UMSA Board of Directors
