ISSA Chapter Meeting: Sharing Strategies for Securing Your API Environment
June 24 @ 2:30 pm - 5:00 pm
While our Q1 Chapter Meeting focused on Identity, we are next moving laterally into a closely related and similarly disrupted domain, built on the identity of systems – Application Programming Interfaces. Innumerable services use both public and private APIs to enable the access and exchange of information between systems and services ranging from products to workloads and applications. API velocity is expanding so rapidly that it has overtaken the network as the ‘connective tissue’ of the Internet – 84% of global Internet traffic consists of API calls. However, APIs face significant security threats. In addition to common threats related to web applications, APIs also have their own variety of potential vulnerabilities.
