ISACA — Real-world applications for blockchain based distributed ledgers
August 20, 2020 @ 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm
Bitcoin was introduced to the world over eleven years ago as an alternative currency platform that quickly has become a new gold standard in the storage and transfer of value. The underlying blockchain technology has its roots deep in software and systems engineering that goes back decades to the first revision control systems. In this session, we’ll explore that brief history and the novel “consensus mechanisms” that make the technology disruptive as well as the real-world examples of how it can be harnessed.
