Session Description:A beginner level primer on Blockchain based distributed ledger technology and an overview of virtual assets with emphasis on risk and control challenges.

Bio: Michael brings to Nasdaq more than thirty-two years of experience in Information Technology, Internal Audit, Cybersecurity, Privacy, IT Governance Risk and Compliance, as well as national/international regulatory requirements.
Prior to coming to Nasdaq, he was a partner at PwC and designed strategies for deploying technology audit in large financial services organizations and transaction processors. He has an unmatched background of public and private industry experience which enables him to construct approaches to managing information technology to maximize the risk management capabilities of any size Internal Audit organization.
He has a US Patent on an approach to auditing crypto and virtual assets that he designed and A. Michael is a CPA, CISA, and CISSP.
